Meet the veterinary team
Dr. Diane Ventrello
Veterinarian (DVM)
Dr. Diane Ventrello has dreamed of becoming a veterinarian since she was a young girl, inspired in part by the beloved James Herriot books. Helping animals feel better and guiding pet owners through their pets’ care continues to be one of the most rewarding parts of her career.
A native of Erie, Dr. Ventrello earned her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. After practicing in Cincinnati for four years, she returned home and joined Erie Animal Hospital in 1999.
Dr. Ventrello has had cats her entire life and has a special interest in feline medicine, helping cats receive the thoughtful and attentive care they deserve. Outside the clinic, she enjoys pickleball and racquetball, exploring the Lake Erie shoreline and local creeks, reading, and spending time outdoors.
Dr. Brian Ulrich
Veterinarian (DVM)
Dr. Brian Ulrich is proud to serve the community where he grew up. An Erie native, he attended Strong Vincent High School and was part of the 1991 state championship football team before continuing his athletic and academic career at Baldwin Wallace University.
Dr. Ulrich first joined Erie Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician in 1999. He later completed his veterinary degree at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and returned to the hospital in 2004 as a veterinarian.
Dr. Ulrich enjoys building long-term relationships with clients and their pets and is committed to caring for families in the Erie area throughout his career. At home, he spends time with his rescue dog, Hallie, and his three rescue cats, Vendetta, Thomas, and London.
Dr. Raylene Hinely-Schroeck
Veterinarian (DVM)
Dr. Raylene Hinely-Schroeck’s path to veterinary medicine began when she was 12 years old and a veterinarian helped save her own dog. That experience inspired her to pursue a career where she could provide the same comfort and reassurance to other families.
She joined Erie Animal Hospital in 2010 and has continued to expand her expertise, particularly in ultrasound and internal medicine. Dr. Hinely-Schroeck is known for her honest, thoughtful approach and her dedication to doing what is best for both pets and their owners.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, and expressing her creativity through ceramics and painting. She also enjoys time with her husband, Paul, and their Golden Retriever rescues, Maverick and Goose.
